Mechanism of Action:

By inhibiting the function of the mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR), a crucial regulator of cell growth and metabolism, sirolimus prevents T-lymphocytes from activating and proliferating in response to antigenic and cytokine stimulation.

Dosage and Administration:

For kidney transplants, a maintenance dose of 2 mg once daily may be administered after an initial loading dose, typically 6 mg, on the day of the transplant. Oral Rapacan tablets can be taken with or without meals. When it comes to meals, consistency is crucial.
