Mechanism of Action:

Meropenem is an antibiotic in the carbapenem class, which acts by preventing the formation of bacterial cell walls, which kills the bacterium. Against a variety of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including those that are resistant to other antibiotics, it is quite effective.
